The URBAN ART WEEK is the first and only comprehensive format of the Berlin urban art scene. After the success of 2018 with about 15.000 visitors and 40 enthusiastic participants, the second edition will take place in 2019 again from 5.09. to 12.09.2019.

.
Under the common umbrella of URBAN ART WEEK, old and new local urban art actors will network to offer a coordinated, multifaceted program over eight days in several districts of Berlin.
The program provides an insight into the work of the participants, such as galleries, project spaces, associations and initiatives, and thus into current developments in the art movements of urban art, such as street art, graffiti writing, muralism and works by artists and photographers who deal with the urban. In addition several exhibitions and live paintings, various workshops, guided tours, talks, performances, a movie night and parties will accompany the week. The format serves to make urban art visible, to communicate it to a broad audience, and to facilitate encounters and exchanges between actors, artists, and visitors.
STREET ART BERLIN presents you here a selection of this year’s programme, in chronological order. Swing by and be astonished!

2. Past Present Future

Just in time for this year’s Urban Art Week, the artists Ruben Ponica and Victor Puzin will transform the Potsdamer Platz into a 3D landscape. On the occasion of the 30 year anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall, the famous Potsdamer Platz will be shown as it was 30 years ago, a construction side, and how it will look like soon, e.g. through a new concept and redesign of the shopping mall Potsdamer Platz Arkaden. Therefore, a huge, 35 m² 3 dimensional painting will be seen on the floor. Furthermore, another 35 m² 3D-painting will emerge at Marlene-Dietrich-Platz, showing a futuristic vision of the Potsdamer Platz in 30 years. The inauguration takes place on 5th of September. The paintings can be seen throughout the whole duration of the Urban Art Week and beyond that until 15th September. Visitors are invited to take photos.
