Murals by Street Artist ROA in Berlin

Mural of hanging animals by Belgian Street Artist Roa in Berlin

The works of Belgian Street Artist Roa from Ghent can’t be missed in the city of Berlin. He is known for his big scaled murals of animals in context to the urban environment. All of them are local animals, that can be found in the city where he is painting them. Depicted with biological precision, they are resting dead or alive, sometimes even rotting, on walls across the world. The fact that Roa is working exclusively with black and white paint, rarely adding some color, makes his works easy to recognize. Roa is reflecting the life in his works, the death is an inseparable part of life and the only certain thing in it. Maybe that’s the reason why his murals, although it are paintings of dead animals, aren’t scary or morbid, but are transporting a peaceful and natural vibe.
